Our client is looking for an engineering technician.
General Duties:
To provide engineering and maintenance support to the Dinnington Waste Management Centre by performing all duties in accordance with documented work requirements, legislation, the company’s policies and objectives. Whilst maintaining and improving performance in the areas of Safety, Quality and the Environment.
Qualifications/Experience: • Must have completed a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship.
• Hold a recognised Mechanical qualification, ie. HNC, NVQ level 3.
• Be mechanical CompEx certified.
• Have experience in the maintenance of piped systems including pumps, seals and associated equipment.
• Have experience of Pneumatic and or Hydraulic systems.
• Previous experience within a similar hazardous environment would be desirable. • Experience of electrical control and instrumentation maintenance would be an advantage.
• Hold a current fork lift truck license.
• Hold a current MEWP licence.
• Must be Computer literate.
Duties:
• Ensure all engineering work is carried out in a safe manner and within current guidelines for both company and legislative requirements.
• Carry out scheduled PPM on plant and equipment as well as suggesting new activities to increase uptime and profitability.
• Carry out reactive maintenance as required in a safe and timely manner to deliver a high level of equipment availability.
• Accurately recording and reporting of engineering work is required.
• Working within and issuing permits to work is a requirement of this position.
• Carry out hazard and risk assessments for routine and reactive maintenance tasks as required.
• Supervise external contractors as and when required.
• Instigate, implement and assist with site improvement projects.
• Working at height is a requirement of this position and possibly confined space once trained.
Call Outs:
• To provide the site with maintenance cover a call out system is operated so flexibility is required from maintenance personnel.
