AccountabilityThe post holder will ensure that the shop floor operatives follow the production schedule in a productive and safe manner within their procedures, utilizing capacity considering the skill set of the operators machine functionality. They will also assist in the scheduling working closely to the Schedulers and Production Manager. They will further ensure that all operators are professionally managed in accordance with company personnel procedures and report directly to the production manager. They are to guarantee that no unauthorized visitors are allowed onto the shop floor.
Roles and Responsibility- Ensure that products are manufactured to
specification and to the promised delivery
date.
- Supervise operators ensuring the correct work
ethic is adhered to.
- Ensure that the work in progress flows through the shop floor, making sure the correct
machines and operators have the correct work with
them.
- Ensure planned hours are achieved and
highlight any concerns why the planned hours cannot be
met.
- Actively encourage continuous improvement
within production area.
- Maintain a safe working environment on the shop floor and highlight to your line manager any necessary improvements that are required i this regard.
- Maintain at all times the cleanliness and
order of the shop floor.
- Assist the Production
Manager with the recorded work time, overtime and absence of supervisors
and operators.
Qualifications- HNC / HND in Engineering or NVQ Level 4 or equivalent
- HNC / HND in Business Management or equivalent NVQ level 4/5 desired
- GCSE A-C Grades in English and Maths
