iRecruit are currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to work for an international automotive engineering organisation at their UK site in Rotherham. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop the electronic and software content of quality mechatronic products, thereby making a huge contribution to the continued success of this well-known corporation. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious electrical or software engineer either with experience or a graduate with internal training to take on the challenge of working in a role with fantastic scope to develop.

The Role

As an Electronics Design Engineer you will play a huge part in designing crucial parts of the components that the company provides to various vehicles in the automotive industry. Reporting to the Principal Engineer you will design both the electronic content of mechatronic products and embedded software that matches both internal and external requirements. Producing design project documentation to ensure that it is all accurate you will also be required to verify designs with care so that requirements are met and make necessary changes should any of these requirements fail to be met. In addition to all aspects of the your standard function, the successful candidate will be expected to provide technical support to both customers and other departments, including the manufacturing area when required and a certain amount of domestic and potentially international travel may also be required on an occasional basis.

With nearly 38 locations worldwide in three different continents they have a huge presence in the industry in providing various internal components to some of the globe's largest car manufacturers. With further expansion plans, they're now looking for well skilled professionals to work at their UK site in Rotherham. The organisation is well structured with strong scope for progression opportunities.

Requirements

" Experience in one of the following areas:

- Degree in Electronics with 2 years relevant experience.
- Graduate engineer with internal training completed.
- Degree in Software with 2 years relevant experience.
- Degree in Physics with 2 years relevant experience.
- HND/HNC with >5 years relevant experience

" Experience using embedded microcontrollers in electronic control units.
" Software writing using the C language in real time embedded applications.
" "CAN", "LIN" or other in-vehicle bus system (not essential but an advantage).
" UML experience (not essential but an advantage).
" Involvement in best practice electronic/software development process, appreciation of CMMI/SPICE.
" Design for volume manufacture
" Automotive experience preferred but not essential
