iRecruit are currently seeking a focused and driven individual to work as a Production Supervisor for a large UPVC & aluminium door and window manufacturing company based in Leeds. Due to continued expansion, a new manager is required to manage the shop floor and assist in continuing the company’s progression. This is a great opportunity to join a fast growing organisation who are looking to expand their premises across the North Yorkshire area.

The Role

As the Production Supervisor you will take on the full management role of the shop floor, supervising 20-30 operatives at any one time. You will work as part of the management team in order to oversee the efficient and effective manufacturing process. Health & Safety is also a key aspect, as is ensuring that employees are working to their full potential and man managing in the most effective way possible. You will need to be able to take a lead in training new operatives within either fabrication, and assisting in their continued development.

The successful candidate will be responsible for production warehouse planning, ensuring all machines and equipment are maintained and operated as required and that staff are managed well within specified areas. The company are always looking for continuous improvement, so you will be expected to suggest and implement any changes that you see as required and will be expected to feed this back to your senior managers.

Although standard hours of 7.30am-3.30pm, the role requires some flexibility with working additional hours if required, depending on the workload and demands of the job.

The Company

The company are a highly successful manufacturer of doors and windows based on the West side of Leeds. Specialising in bi-fold doors and working within UPVC and aluminium they distribute their products through various channels across the UK, including their own retail line. Moving at a fast pace, they will be looking to seek new, local premises in order to meet the continued needs of the business. It is therefore a good time to join the organisation, ad in time there is likely to be opportunity to move in senior management.

Requirements

·         Supervisory experience of a fairly large team essential

·         Background in either fabrication, UPVC or aluminium

·         Strong personality who can work in a direct environment

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Management/Health & Safety certificates desirable
