iRecruit are currently seeking an experienced and capable estimator/purchasing officer for a growing door manufacturer based in Doncaster. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2-3 years' experience within estimating & purchasing preferably within the timber/door industry but the client are also willing to consider candidates from a window background or related components.

Your role will be primarily office based and will involve liaising with suppliers requesting for tender and ensuring that requirements are met based on interpretation of technical drawings and specifications. You will be expected to work on your own initiative in choosing the best supplier for the company to work with and will be using Microsoft office and other bespoke software to calculate the technical requirements required.

Main Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

" Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to calculate quantities and costings of products
" Researching and selecting the most appropriate suppliers based on company requirements
" Reviewing submitted tenders from suppliers
" Estimating and negotiating purchasing costs
" Liaising with production to understand up and coming work and act accordingly

Requirements:

" Minimum 2-3 years' experience of estimating/purchasing
" Strong IT skills, preferably experience in using bespoke software
" Maths literate
" Ability to use initiative and negotiate
